It's not like Alaska isn't wilderness - it mostly is. But most Alaskans don't live in the wild. They live on the edge of the wild in towns with schools and cable TV and stores and dentists and roller rinks sometimes. It's just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.

Moon Set
4am looking out of the tent on Thompson Island on Lake Superior. Four days just wasn't enough ... gotta go back and spend some more time along the Canadian shores of the lake. Maybe this Fall.

Incredible picture, but what were you doin up at 4?
Normally I would sleep, or at least not go for a walk at 4am. But if I have a beer or two that evening, all bets are off!
