It's not like Alaska isn't wilderness - it mostly is. But most Alaskans don't live in the wild. They live on the edge of the wild in towns with schools and cable TV and stores and dentists and roller rinks sometimes. It's just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.

Favorite Places
Captains Coffee in Homer is a great place to swing into and get a coffee and berry muffin on the way to the airport in the morning. They even have a drive through if you are feeling lazy!

Couple of co workers are heading up in August to fish pinks and halibut. I'm tempted.....really tempted.
August would be a good time of year to check out Alaska ...
