The dark spot on Long Lake has just frozen over as of last night, I've never seen open water on the lake this late into winter. There is a small stream going into the lake not far from the area, I'm sure this has a little to do with the open water. Its an ok lake for an afternoon workout paddle .. just have to hug the shore line to keep out of the path of jet-ski's. They must have a truly unstable steering system, as I don't think I have ever seen one go in a strait line. At any rate .. I usually try and avoid them if I can.
