Note to self: Never just head up to the North Shore on a Friday afternoon thinking you will find an open campsite ... you WILL end up some miles inland and hopefully get your tent set up before dark. The Gunflint, and the BWCA is a great alternative to the North Shore.

I spend a week on the Gunflint every year camping at the Nor Wester Lodge. We fish, hike, pick berries and eat really well from the bounty. It's a great place!
Ah yes! We found lots of berries. The Gunflint is a great place ... it is a busy place these days, not like I remember it.
