It's not like Alaska isn't wilderness - it mostly is. But most Alaskans don't live in the wild. They live on the edge of the wild in towns with schools and cable TV and stores and dentists and roller rinks sometimes. It's just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.

Isle Royale Picture
I spent 8 days paddling around Isle Royale over the week of Labor Day last fall. This was really a highlight of last summer. Good friends, good food, and lots of great paddling.
Hi Nora, Isle Royal is an incredible place. I'm going to try and make it back again in 2007. So many great place to go ... I'll try and post more picture of the trip.
