It's not like Alaska isn't wilderness - it mostly is. But most Alaskans don't live in the wild. They live on the edge of the wild in towns with schools and cable TV and stores and dentists and roller rinks sometimes. It's just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.

Water is still cold!
A quick paddle again last night .. sunset was fantastic, the conditions were about as calm as it could get. So what the heck, after a workout paddle back and forth across the bay, I had to do a roll ... the water is still really, really, cold!
The winter weather came through here last night, looks like a couple of inches of snow here, with over six inches in southern part of the state. It is still April ...
