It's not like Alaska isn't wilderness - it mostly is. But most Alaskans don't live in the wild. They live on the edge of the wild in towns with schools and cable TV and stores and dentists and roller rinks sometimes. It's just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.

Qajaq USA
I put it off for way to long. I sent in my application and am now a proud member of "Qajaq USA". I think they are really a great resource for Greenland Kayaking.
Welcome to our bunch of ordinary/unique paddlers. Although I will miss it this year, do get to one of the summer camps. You will meet some amazingly nice and skilled folks there.
Dude, I got your registration for The Gathering and it's not a big deal if you didn't have a QajaqUSA number at the time. Remind me at some point that I owe you your $10 back.
Oh, and let me know your plans for Canoe U. I may have to drive up early to greet but maybe we can carpool if our timing works out.
Thanks Dick! I know I will be in good company. Alex, I'll be in touch before the weekend. I may have to head out late Friday night the way the week is going.
