Yuk!!

Why there is an algae bloom this early in the season is disturbing, I've not seen it like this until late in the summer. I took these pictures last Wednesday on Lake Independence, I didn't put the boat in the water that day ... in fact I haven't been back since. I only hope all the folks with their chemically treated lawns around the lake appreciate the green crap in the water as much as I do.

Seems like you, me, and Dr Silbs are all on the same wavelength. The green stuff is starting far too early!

I agree. I wonder if the stuff is eatable??? If it is, we can keep some ranch dressing in our day hatches:)
Humor aside, the gunk and PCB's and filth are taking over one water way after another. I want better for my kids...and my grand children yet to be born.

I wonder if it tastes as bad as it smells ... I'd like it to be better for generations to come also, are we are on the path to repairing the damage, or just fooling ourselves??

My boyfriend TQ lives in the 'burbs. His place has a nice little pond nearby & he's mentioned this cycle of neighbors fertilizing their lawns, and then wanting to dump herbicide to take care of the luxuriant vegetation in the pond.
